“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
– Steve Jobs
As wedding season gets into full swing, I thought I would take a minute to share some of the great stuff that has been happening behind the scenes!
One of my favorite things about this business, is it’s cyclical nature. The ebb and flow. The intensity and thrill of projects coming to fruition. The preparation and study. The evaluation, the “rinse & repeat” of the entrepreneurial journey.
During the last months, I have had the chance to mentor with fine art film photographer, Jeremy Chou, and have studied up on the technical aspects of off camera lighting with Doug Levy, spent a few days in Newport, Rhode Island with some great photographers at the Inspire Photo Retreat to delve into the details of running a creative business, took a trip to Stowe, Vermont for a beautiful workshop with Ashley Largesse, and so much more.
The Long Hill Styled Shoot has been published in Seacoast Weddings Magazine. (Print publication was a real goal of mine for the last year, and I’m so excited that it was accepted by one of my favorite magazines for publication!)
The website has been re-branded. Check it out when you have a minute. Lots of pretty on the new site!
New Sample albums came in from Red Tree. Wow! So gorgeous. And Wooden Boxes from HH Boogie. More photos of these beauties, soon!
Finally, I’m happy to announce the newest addition to the Newbury Photographs family, the Pentax 645n, a medium format film camera. Yay! So I’ve stocked up on Fuji, Portra and Ilford, and have been studying up on film photography. I’m so excited to offer hybrid photography to the lineup!
Happy Weekend! xx Nicole
