Last winter, during a nor’easter, I daydreamed about a greenhouse inspired styled shoot. These collaborative shoots are such a fun way to be creative, work with some amazing vendors, and collaborate to make something beautiful. The Stevens-Coolidge Place was just beautiful. With a lovely old greenhouse, formal gardens, and an orchard, it is a really great place for photos.
At my parent’s farm in Pennsylvania, my mom and I searched through antique linens, pewter candle sticks, and vintage china to see what looked best together. (In some of the layered tabletop photos you can see china from my mother’s mother, and my father’s mother’s family, along with antique family silver, that has been passed down through the generations.) My mom also sent me home with a great selection of beeswax candles which burn beautifully, and have such a warm, rich feel to them. She is also who taught me what I know about floral design! Thanks, Mom!
By total serendipity, the flowers next to the greenhouse are the same color as those on the dress! An added bonus.
I knew I wanted to do something different in this shoot, and the Dream Shoot Rentals gown did the trick. With the black gown with big red and pink flowers, it really made the shoot something unique and special, and was a real treat to photograph!
Here is a list of the incredible people who collaborated to make the shoot possible.
Venue: The Stevens Coolidge Place ; Model: Gulnara Gross ; Dress: Dream Shoot Rentals ; Cake: Cake That!; Calligraphy : Hazel and Gray; Make Up Artist: Bebe Simone; Assistant: Jenna Gallo; Assistant: Amanda Ortiz
Here’s a little something I wrote about how I did the floral arrangement if you are curious.
